Food was great! Just a little pricey for us cheapskates. But definitely yummy and filling!

I love this hole in the wall, super awesome chicken wing shack! They're a little more pricey than other places such as wing nutz or buffalo wild wings, but wayyyy worth it. These wings are huge. Honestly, I would say they're about twice the size as what you would find at those other wing places. I recall paying about $6 for 5 wings. Trust me you don't need any more than that. It's just nice to have a small quite sports wing place. I think they could seat about 30 people. They have a pretty good lunch combo deal. About $10 for 5 wings, a medium drink, and a side. Love the Spicy Garlic wings! Apparently, they also have a 12 hot wing challenge, which it seems a lot of people complete. Wish they were open on Sundays, but I understand no one wants to work on Sundays.

These are by far my favorite wings in Utah. The XX Hot Garlic on a boneless wing might be as good as a wing gets, for me. Like someone else said, crispy tots, great fry sauce, and a bevy of wing sauces make this great. A brief word on the salads. Same have said they don't like them, I've never actually eaten them, but my friends who go there weekly swear by them. I figure at some point, when I'm tired of wings (which will never happen) I'll try a salad. Ownership gets a big thumbs-up from me. We went in as a group, and asked them to change the channel to a soccer game that was on during lunch, as we didn't want to go to the big chain wing place in Lehi, and they were more than happy to let us eat our food and then contentedly spend 2 hours watching the game. This may become my favorite non-sports bar, sports bar.

  • Jeff B.

Best wings I've found in Utah. These are true Buffalo wings. My favorite are the XX Garlic Pepper wings, but I can vouch for most of the other sauces as well. If you don't like spicy, try the pineapple bbq wings. They do offer sandwiches and salads as well, but I've never gone there with the intention of getting something besides wings. The ambiance is fast-food with some sports memorabilia on the walls and a couple of TV's with sports events playing. Prepare to wait a bit for your wings to be ready -- it'll take about 12 minutes or so even if they're not busy. If you want extra sauce, make sure to order your wings "wet". Celery is available, but you have to request it. Please go often to get your wing fix. I want to keep these guys around.

So good. Hot parmesan garlic are killer. Fry sauce is best in the state. Fries are good. Open one next to BYU! Your other Provo location was terrible.

Best wings I have every Had! the Service is Great it's been a lot better sense they let go some of the people. The food is always amazing! My suggestions for wings: Garlic Pepper Hot BBQ (not really hot just good) Hot Garlic Pepper The pulled pork and boneless wings are also good choices. Hands down best wings in Utah.

Good wings, tons of sauce and flavor options. Little pricey for wings... all in all, good stuff. Glad they are here.

Very Good Wings and other things. Good price and style. Awesome sauces too. Don't ask for there recipes, there a secret! I get the Chicken Fingers with the Raspberry (I think) Sauce and then a tater tot!

  • Natali W.

Everyone says it and it's true...these are the best wings in Utah (I've had some outside Utah that come close but never surpass). And their fries and fry sauce are fantastic as well. Our favorite are the Garlic pepper wings and the Parmesan wings. Seriously....these wings are awesome! We live in Provo but it is definitely worth the drive to American Fork.

I'm dropping my review from 5 stars almost to 3. The only thing keeping it at 4 stars, is I can't find anything better in Utah. The wing sauces are good, particularly the hot garlic and the hot parm. The tater tots are also great, nice and crispy. The wings themselves are a bit lacking, not what they used to be. However my biggest reason for downgrading from 5 stars is their weak blue cheese. Great wing places (outside of utah) usually have a very chunky blue cheese sauce, theirs is cheap with no chunks, almost a ranch. Last when I order my wings wet, and pay extra for it make them wet, don't just drizzle a little extra sauce so you can save $.

The wings are really good. The problem is though that the service is really slow. I had a group of 6 by the time the last of the 6 got is food the two that got their food first were already done eating. They only have one register and can only take one order at a time. It seems they only have one fryer too so the food comes out really slowly. By 12:15 the line was to the door. I saw 10-15 potentual customers just leave because the wait was so long. It's too bad because the food is great. Unless you can go early or late and miss the rush or have 90 minutes for lunch this place won't work for most people unless they can scale up and provide faster service.

This is the first time that Yelp has led me astray. Average rating of 4.5. I did not get this place at all. Everyone was saying how much better it is then Bdubs... its nothing great. DO NOT GET the boneless wings... the boneless wings are... a grilled chicken breast drenched in sauce. The two sauces we got weren't that great. They both tasted like buffalo sauce... one had garlic on it. Price... not much different than bdubs. we dropped 23 bucks but got less flavors than we normally get. Everyone was raving about the tater tots... and I have advice for them. Go to the costco frozen section, purchase the giant bag of tater tots... and bake them. Don't get me wrong the tater tots were good, but if you are going to build something up... they better be unique. It is a nice and clean establishment, but its pretty cramped. And their ranch dressing is good haha. All in all I just felt super disappointed with this place. Nothing spectacular or original.

I enjoyed my visit great wings. The $10 lunch deal was great. Medium sauce was great, but slightly watery. The fry sauce was one of the best I have had. I am glad I took the chance on this place.

I am quickly becoming a regular for lunch here. Their lunch special is 8 wings, fries or tots, and a drink. They recently leased the space next door to accommodate more of the lunch crowd which can be large on most days. Even with how busy they are, the people at the counter are always ultra friendly and they keep the locale spotless. My only difficulty with the Wingshak is that the majority of their sauces seem to be regular buffalo sauce with and added ingredient. They could use a bit of variety in the sauce department. Here is where I think these guys stand above the other wing joints. Their wings are larger and meatier than any other place that I have tried. I feel like I am getting a better value here than Buffalo Wild Wings, etc.

  • Kristen J.

We really like this place. The different sauces are all great. Our favorites are teriyaki, hot Parmesan, and pineapple bbq. We love to get their salads with boneless wings for a slightly healthier option. But their fries and tots are hard to resist. The service has always been pretty good, but you do have to wait a bit for the wings to be made to order.

  • Todd R.

Their tots are good. I got some boneless wings with buffalo sauce - they had a good flavor but were skinny and kind of tough and their was a weird pasty texture to the breading + sauce? The worst part is that this place is crazy small. It reminds of being on an elevator with everyone touching shoulders.

This is an awesome little hidden gem. My husband is head over heels for this place!! Great fry sauce and even my picky eats for kids enjoyed the tots and fries. The staff was super kid and friendly!!

This place is good for wings they are crunchy and the sauces are good. Your going to want to drink the fry sauce by the gallon! It's that good.

Some of my co-workers come here all the time, almost every Friday, for lunch. I decided it was time for me to join them and give it a try. now, I am not much of a wing person but they talked me into it since the Wingshack also serves boneless wings (Chicken fingers). The place is small and at max capacity it only holds around 30 people, so if you plan on going around lunch time, make sure to get there early. The choices are basic, there are several types of sauces to choose from for your wings, along with a few basic sides (fries, tots, salad etc.). I ordered a large boneless wing meal and opted for the garlic pepper sauce since I am not a fan of the standard buffalo sauce. The wait time was minimal, however our group were the only ones there at the time so there was not really a line yet. When I received my food it was a surprisingly large portion and there were about 6 good size chicken wings/strips and a decent portion of tater tots. I ordered Garlic Pepper sauce for my wings and much to my surprise it was still in a buffalo style sauce with just a hint of garlic flavor. I was a little disappointed since I was hoping for more of a garlic flavor ( I LOVE garlic), but this was my fault since I just assumed how they did their sauces. I ended up eating around the sauce and by taking some of the breading off and using a lot of ranch sauce, it all turned out OK. Overall the place wasn't bad, I will try it again and inquire about the different sauces a bit more, before placing my order. I would like to try their garlic cheese fries, I am a big fan of garlic and hope they do them some justice. The biggest downside is the size of the place and the potential wait time during busy hours. However, I did hear a rumor that they plan on expanding into the space next to them so hopefully this will happen soon and solve this issue.

  • Koshoni S.

Some of the best wings I've had, this place for sure beats out Applebee's, Chili's and the like!! Their fries, especially their garlic cheese fries are great too! Good variety of sauces for their wings as well. Decent prices. I would rather watch the game at home anyways, but at least it's not as loud as a dance club in this place (you know who you are Buffalo Wild Wings)

    (4)
  • Sean B.

I love personalized service, the wings and sauces are all amazing! They always take care of me and my family whenever I dine in. It is never a disappointment, and I can't wait for them to have another location closer to where I live and work. Then I'll frequent this place a lot more!

  • Curtis G.

I've never been a huge wing fan, so when I come here with co-workers I usually get the "boneless" wings (a.k.a. chicken fingers). They're okay but not great. I do like the tater tots. The biggest problem at the Wing Shak is the teeny space they've got. At lunchtime when there are several groups in there (almost always all guys), it's hard to find a place to fit everyone.

  • Lindsay K.

Sauces are great, I had the mild, my husband the medium. We got the onion rings too, which appeared to be hand battered, they were really good. Portions are huge, I got a regular boneless meal and ate about half of it. My husband ordered 10 wings but only got 8. They were very quick to fix that mistake. Good place for easy chill dining, but not fast food, a good ten minute wait to get your food

  • Ben W.

I liked the wings and if I'm ever craving some again and happen to be nearby then I think I would stop in, but I don't think I would go out of my way for these. The main deterrent for me with wings in the area is they usually cost more than what I'm used to paying for them. Coming from Central NY (and having family in Buffalo) its not easy for me to pay $1 or more per wing. I'm used to paying a maximum of $.50/wing. That note aside, I enjoyed the wings, but I might just have to get my wing fix every time I go back east.

    (4)
  • Emily S.

Not satisfied with food quality and overall price. My order was $10.49 for four boneless beer battered wings, a cup size amount of fries, and a drink. I was excited to go due to the large amount of positive reviews, but I wasn't impressed with it. I also did not like their hawaiian sauce. I've heard their sandwiches are made out of large texas toast, maybe I'll try that.. or next time I'll just get a large order of their chicken tenders.. or.. just go somewhere else.

  • Chris L.

Best wings in town! I've been to all of them, buffalo wild wings, wingers, etc. etc. and this place is the best by far! No breading! Just straight up cooked and seasoned wings! And their fry sauce is to die for! No doubt, I will have withdrawals from this place if I ever move away.

I am very much a regular, I eat there at least a couple of times a month if not weekly (and sometimes almost daily). I LOVE good wings/chicken fingers and the flavors they have are the best around. The food is awesome, so why only 3 stars? One horrible employee. Three of the four that I normally deal with are awesome (the man, younger guy with red hair and the blonde lady - who is super super nice). However, the dark haired girl who is normally working the register during lunch is awful to deal with. Today I forgot to say that I wanted it to go, she acted put out by it and then I swear she shorted me boneless wings because of it. I got to my office to eat and there were only 4 when I ordered a large. Normally there are about 6. She seriously ruins the experience often enough that I am done going there for now. I should mention, she seems to dislike girls and seems to be fine with guys. Normally I'm either the only girl there or one of a very few so the owners probably don't realize how rude she is to their female customers. I have sent my receptionist to get wings for me a couple of times and she has had the same horrible experience with the dark haired girl.

Love their wings!!! Hot Parm is my favorite. If you are wanting wings for the big game good luck...they are never open on any holidays and sporadically close on random days. On busy game days/nights they take the phone off the hook so it is impossible to order take-out. Their wings are second to none but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. 5 stars for taste but 0 stars for customer frustration.

I'm only been here once but the service was less than desirable and then when I asked for a fry sauce they charge by which I thought was kind of ridiculous

Great wings! Best in the state! Get the garlic pepper wings, tots and a DP. I would come here weekly if I could, it is that good. When my IT team goes to lunch, they want to come here.

Easily the best wings in Utah. Learn how to order and service will be great. The only downer is that it is pricey. But it is worth it.

Better wings than Wingers. Reminds me of real wings from Buffalo. The city, not the animal.

These wings are superior to all the chains I've tried locally...or anywhere for that matter. The quality and size of their chicken wings and signature sauces are very crave-able. I've enjoyed the parmesan, and pineapple BBQ flavors, but the hot garlic pepper and XX hot garlic pepper are my favorite. Their blue cheese dressing (for dipping) complements the savory/spicy flavored wings perfectly, while their ranch goes well with the sweet. They also have a super tasty fry sauce, but be sure to ask for crispy fries, otherwise I often end up with the limp variety. I always ask for the free celery sticks with my wings...you have to ask. Celery sticks round it all out for me and lighten up the meal. My wife is not a big fan of messy meats, but she loves their signature salads with boneless chicken tossed in one of their sauces. They make it all fresh to order, so expect to wait about 15 minutes. We've taken to calling in our orders to cut down on the "sit, wait, and watch ESPN" scenario. The end!

I have been to this restaurant several times and I really do enjoy their food. But the service is pretty slow and the owner was really nice unless you have an issue with anything that you want to bring up with him! We bought a gift card and the kid at the register didn't stamp it or sign it and I asked him if it needed it and he said no. We were giving it as a birthday present and give them the receipt that came along with it to show how much it was for. When my friend went to go use it because it wasn't signed the owner wouldn't accept it even though it comes with a receipt. When I called just to talk to him about it he automatically started arguing with me! I couldn't even get out my whole complaint or my concerns about the whole thing and he told me that his staff always does everything they're supposed to do and that they will not accept it. I would not recommend buying gift cards from this establishment.

After a few visits, I've finally decided... this place just isn't all that great. The wings are very good, and I suppose that should be given a lot of weight, since it IS a wingshak. The owners and employees are very friendly and helpful too, but that's where the awesomeness stops, for me. The sandwiches and sides that I've tried leave a lot to be desired. I've tried two different chicken sandwiches and both followed the same basic design; 2 slices of extremely buttery/greasy Texas toast, with (yummy) chicken in between, with a gob of mayo and some flavorless iceberg lettuce and store-bought tomatoes. The chicken inside was delicious both times, but overall the sandwich was too greasy and not very appealing. On my most recent visit, I tried the garlic cheese tots. I had a craving for the crispity crunchity goodness of tots, but I was left disappointed. These are not your typical cheese tots, smothered with melted gooey cheese. They are more like "rolled" in granulated garlic and a sort of powdered Parmesan-y "cheese" that tastes like maybe it came out of a big green can. The result is a tot with a powdery, mealy, consistency and texture, along with a less than appealing flavor. These were extremely disappointing. I understand their focus is wings, but if everything else is bad-to-mediocre, then they should remove them from the menu and just stick to making wings. If and when I return here, I'll follow my own advice. I'll stick with the 4-star chicken, avoid the bread at all costs and maybe try some "plain" tots. One last downside... no beers. :-(

Wings - The best Fries - perfect amount of crispy Fry sauce - home made Tots - I like the fries better Selection of sauce - oh man......... Teriyaki - the perfect flavor - the perfect combination of sweet and savory. Garlic pepper - it's got that classic buffalo flavor with an incredible kick of fresh garlic. Hot parmesan - similar to hot garlic but it's a cheesy flavor instead of a garlicky one. There's more but these are my favorite. Some say the salads are lame. It's probably true. But why would you want to waste space in your belly with salad when you can fill it with wings and delicious fries and fry sauce and dipping sauce and then wash it all down with a Pepsi. I want to live there forever.

Forget Buffalo Wild Wings. This place kicks em in the pants! Wings were crisp and sauces were all incredible. The wraps are also great and are big, especially for the price.

  • Harris M.

I would've given them 5 stars if they didn't get my order wrong, but in the end it didn't matter because everything was great. I ordered a 10 piece, split between Garlic Pepper and Hot Parmesan, but I got Lemon Pepper and Hot Parmesan instead. The wings are crispy on the outside, and extremely juicy on the inside and there is more meat on each wing than what I'd typically get at Buffalo Wild Wings. Service was OK. They are friendly, but we told the server that the our order was wrong but he didn't offer to make it right and only apologized, but the wings looked and smelled so good that I didn't want to have to wait and I wasn't disappointed. The "shak" is very small (seats less than 30 comfortably) and easily gets busy during lunch that you may find yourself waiting a while to get your food. They do have at least 2 flat screen TVs playing sports to occupy your time, but I would avoid the lunch rush so plan to go early or late. I do love the hole-in-the-wall type feel, but the restaurant is kept very clean, despite heavy traffic and seeming lack of staff. Slightly pricier than Buffalo Wild Wings (if I recall correctly), but if based solely on taste, I'd easily pick Wingshak over Buffalo, and easily worth the price. Best wings in Utah.

  • Sam O.

If heaven serves wings they will be these. After waiting the perfect amount of time your anticipation creates an environment that is instantly filled with the meat of ages. The wings are so tender that gravity itself melts the skin off just lifting it from off the plate. If its flavor you want, your mouth will thank you for choosing rocky mountain wings. I have never been disappointed and I have been partaking for years.

This is the best wings place in Utah if you like hot wings. I've tried them all and the Wingshak puts the rest to shame. This is a regular spot for me, won't eat wings any where else.

Very, very good wings, not so great service (except from the owner who is very friendly). They also just started a frequent diner program (punch card) which is cool. I would recommend the Wingshak.

I ate here for lunch today with the Missus. She hates wing joints, so I didn't tell her where we were going, punched the coordinates into the GPS and she was cool and went along. Every wing place I've taken her to, she doesn't like em. You all rated this it so highly, that I had to go along and try it. My wife loved it. I'll admit, so did I. They seem to buy really good chicken. We both really liked it. My only complaint, is I bought their XX sauce, which was their hottest and it was pretty weak compared to other wing joints. Perfectly cooked tots. Nice and crispy on the outside, soft in the middle. I might end up craving those alone. We both enjoyed those. Mrs Zip said her bbq wings were delicious, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. I think they do a good job. 4 stars. nicely done RMWS. I will be back.

Though the reviews posted here all says this is the place for wings, I found it it's just ok (at least for the wings I ordered). I got the hot garlic pepper ones (with bones), I didn't find it as awesome as the others described. Maybe because of the reviews here, I had higher expectation. Oddly, I find myself rather happy going to buffalo wild wings than here. I love the garlic Parmesan at Buffalo Wild Wings and they got many TVs playing different sports compare to the one and only tv here. however, all I ordered was the 5 pieces of hot garlic pepper wings, so I can imagine other things on the menu maybe phenomenal. On the plus side, the wings here is more meaty than Buffalo Wild Wings!

Pretty good, but nothing special. Seemed a bit expensive for size of the order, but not memorable enough to go back.

Being from Idaho (living in Utah, 5 blocks from Rocky Mountain Wingshak actually)I know I don't have much wing credibility, but believe me when I say that these wings are incredible. If you want super unbearably hot wings to show off your manhood, probably try somewhere else, but if you want great flavor and perfectly cooked chicken you have to try this place. Definitely the best place in town. EDIT: They still have great food, but I have to put it down to 4 stars for service. Every time I go there the owner is kind of a downer. He is extremely stingy with his punch card too. We had a family lunch and spent $50 bucks and got one punch. It's worth $10 if you fill it out. He does it per order, not matter what the cost. All of the other workers there are super nice though. Still recommended.

First of all the staff here is super nice and awesome. That alone makes this place better than Buffalo Wild Wings. The flavors are great and the food portions are really good for the price. I loved the place and I am going to become a regular at this place. I recommend it to anyone who loves wings or chicken fingers of any kind.

As a former vegetarian, I hadn't much experience with the chicken wing. To be honest, I feared it. And as a clean freak, the very idea of eating something that got my hands all messy (gasp!) was not very appealing. I throw all my cleanliness/former meat phobias out the window when I go to the Wingshak. It's one of those things you just want every now and then, and this is the only place with wings good enough to tempt me. Wide variety of sauces, also in a range of mild to extra hot (I like the really spicy ones). They make them fresh when you order them so they are always delicious and hot. This might sound weird, but I also love their tater tots. They bring back those school lunch memories but are oh so much better. I wouldn't bother with the other stuff on the menu (salads, etc). Why go to a wing joint and not get wings? That's just my opinion, coming from someone who has another weird phobia: iceberg lettuce. Places that specialize in something like wings always use iceberg lettuce in their salads. But i'm on a tangent here. My point was, go here for wings. ALSO...part of the reason I wanted to write this is review is because they just opened another location in Provo. It's on University Parkway across the street from Movies 8 (the stripmall where Albertson's used to be).

The best wings in the state by far. The service was a bit off in the last year, but recently the owner has taken over again and the service problems are gone. Considering the size and quality of the wings, the price is completely fair. Not only that, but they have various discounts and specials available all day (and a convenient punch card_. Trying to get the owner on Yelp, so hopefully there will be some check-in offers in due time. All of the sauces are excellent, with my favorites being the hot parmesan, Hot BBQ and the garlic pepper.

Definitely the best wings I've had in Utah. Loved the hot Parmesan ones I had today. Only complaint is that the price is a tad bit high. Wish they had one of these in Salt Lake County!

The one thing that I really enjoy about this place is that you can order your wings exactly as you like them and not worry about offending the cook. They've got a sign posted near the cash register that explains the different ways that you can have them prepared (e.g., dry, wet, extra crispy, etc.). And the sauces are great too. The "hot" is a perfect blend of spice and flavor. Although the sides are just okay, the wings are the best around.

I was so glad when this place opened, I mentioned it to anyone with a hint of interest because I wanted it to succeed. I've been back East a lot and these are the only wings in Utah that recreate the experience. Genuinely enjoyable. This is where I take my family for special occasions--like my birthday! My flavor is medium hot, but the rest of the family goes for the pineapple bbq or the teriyaki. If you ask, they let you split the flavors into two baskets. Really, if you know anything about wings you will thoroughly enjoy your meal.
